Rome, Part 2

I arrived in Rome on the train from Solarno about 2pm, with no plans or place to stay, and carrying a ton of sailing crap. Luckily I found a great little 3 star Pension in a part of Rome that David, Peter and I had not explored the previous week.

The little hotel was great. It was in the old section of Rome, about four or five blocks from the Vatican. I had a small but nice room on the 4th floor, a rooftop garden on the 5th floor with a great view of the Vatican basilica, and 2 days to explore before I had to leave.

I wandered around Rome the first day, then spent most of the second day exploring the Vatican. Amazing place. For 4 Euros, you can go up in the dome. From there you can take some stairs that actually go between the inner dome and the outer dome to the very top.
