Isola D'Ischia

From Porto San Felice, we again headed south towards Naples. There are two famous islands in the bay of Naples. The one to the south, Capri, is the most famous. While Capri is famous for its beauty, it is incredibly expensive and way too touristy. The other island is Ischia, on the north side of the bay.

Ischia is larger, quieter, cheaper, and less touristy than Capri. And I think it is actually more scenic. We spent 3 nights there waiting for a part for a water pump. I can't think of a better place to spend 3 nights.

On the first full day there, I decided to do the drinking tour of Ischia. David and Peter were off doing other things and I discovered that the cost of the local bus that circumnavigates the island was only 1 Euro, and you can get off and on as many times as you want. Every place that looked interesting, I got off and had a beer in a local cafe. Then waited for the next bus. This took about 4 hours and I forget how many beers.

The second day we took a hydrofoil ferry into Naples and toured around some.

The part for the water pump finally arrived on the evening of the second day. We installed it and left the next morning.
