Porto Ferraio, Elba

From Menton, the sail to Elba took about 30 hours. Dave and I took the night watches as we sailed passed the tip and down the east side of Corsica. By sunrise, Elba was in sight in the distance.

Napoleon was exiled on Elba. I don't understand why he ever wanted to leave.

After mooring in the town harbor and having lunch and a quick nap, Dave, Mimi and I decided to explore Porto Ferraio. Beautiful town. Found Napoleon's house and tried to break in. No luck. We explored the two great forts guarding the entrance to the harbor, and walked through the village. Had a great seafood dinner, too many bottles of good French wine, and a nightcap of 'sippin' Rum on the boat.
